PRESS CONFERENCE:"PLEASE KNOW YOUR HANDBOOK AND ALSO KNOW YOUR RIGHT" BUSA PRESIDENT, JOSHUA ANTE IS ADVICING ALL BABCOCK STUDENTS.

On the 3rd of November 2016, a press conference held at BUSA board room and BUSA PRO:David Enyedok,Mr President:Joshua Ante,Welfare director: Oloye,Senate President:IBK and deputy senate President:Lucky were all present. We discussed about some issues which are: INDOMINE: Increase in drug use through indomine, some students used the opportunity to bring drugs into their halls. Although, indomine wasn't the only way to smuggle drugs into the hall but it was commonly used by students and they also mixed the noodles with different types of this drugs. Also, the amount of salt in the noodles spices is too much and when prepared with microwave, it becomes dangerous to the body. BUSA tried their possible best and you don't expect them to win all cases with the school. So, the school has decided to bring back indomine but it would be in a store located in BUSA but you would not be able to take it to your hall.

MICROWAVE: BUSA tried to be diplomatic enough so as not to bring violence, and them been an association under the school, they still have to be obedient students. According to BUSA PRO, David Enyedok, he explained that the school had their reasons for banning microwave and the most important reason is because of fire outbreak. But the school administration also agreed after much attempt by BUSA official to bring back microwave but not in halls of residence but in shops and lot in the cafeteria.

DRUGS: Students are not sent home immediately when they are picked by Security On Patrol(SOP) you would have to go for drugs test and if you are positive you would face the school panel before they decide if you are meant to go home or not... But the only time you would be sent home immediately is when you are caught in the act.

SENDGO: Beginning of this semester, some students decided to open an organisation called SENDGO and their duty was to deliver food from the cafeteria, BUSA house and other places but later I got a message " We regret to announce to u that the school policy has affected SENDGO Operation,therefore we appreciate u all for believing in us and in our proposal. This medium seize to exist for the main time...Sendgo is still alive in other universities. Thank you for your understanding. Paul,Emmanuel Sendgo Representative." The reason why they didn't get approval from school is because of the idea of food poisoning and it isn't right for students to deliver food substance to other students. BUSA Senate President, Olajide Ibukun said "SENDGo isnt a BUSA project, but it would be good if they rewrite their proposal and get a BUSA official to back them up".

SECURITY OFFICERS: Most students has complained that the security officers are always rude and their way of approach is very bad. The BUSA officials had a meeting with the director and they promise to deal with that. A congress,but the time is not set yet, the Director of Security would be present. Students, please if any SOP officer should seize your phone or ID card,make sure you write down or take note of the name of the officer. Know what is in your handbook and know your right-Joshua Ante(BUSA President).

PANEL: Some students complained that when students are facing panel,you are meant to be there with your lawyer or you parents since the school have their own lawyer and 75% of students have the tendency to be sacred when they get in there because they would be facing almost 15 elderly people. "When you were signing the school rules,you did not sign with you lawyer but if you know you are right and you need someone to defend you, you can get any BUSA official to defend you. if students have issues,please let them use BUSA as an intermindary."David Enyedok(BUSA PRO)

TABS: Last semester, Tablet slate were brought and most of them got faulty and were returned but the school decided to get Samsung Tablets and it would be supplied to school very soon and it would be given to the graduating set first. And the WiFi connection is in process and would still be ready.
